Pheasants always seem to move very slowly after a heavy fall of snow, maybe because they feel more vulnerable as they can be more easily spotted against the silvery white background, or could it be that they are as surprised as we are at the beauty of such a morning with the first shafts of sunlight announcing the dawn.
