A familiar setting in the 1960’s with the faithful 35 gently going about it’s business. Amid this peaceful harvest summer evening the threat from the ‘cold war’ was never far from Lincolnshire’s doorstep. Vulcan bombers of RAF Coningsby stand armed with nuclear warheads. I still believe today that many people who lived near these bases simply did not realise the awesome power just over the fence at the time.
